A disturbing incident unfolded on the evening of January 29th in Pattaya, leaving a disabled Korean tourist injured.
Rescue officers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to a call about an assault within Soi 11 off of Second Road, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Upon arrival, they found Mr. Kyoung Jun Lee, a 29-year-old Korean national, lying injured with a fractured head and bleeding facial wounds.
The rescue officers promptly administered first aid before transporting Mr. Kyoung to a hospital for further medical attention. According to an anonymous eyewitness, two Russian foreigners had attacked Mr. Kyoung before fleeing the scene, one towards a hotel and the other disappearing into an alley.
The witness further revealed that Mr. Kyoung, who suffers from disabilities in both legs and is able to speak Thai, seemed reluctant to report the incident to the police and expressed fear of retaliation from the attackers. The witness added that the attack reportedly took place after the victim left a massage parlor after asking about the place’s service prices.
It’s unclear if the Russian suspects were associated with the massage parlour or if the attack on the Korean tourist was due to other motives or even possibly random.
The witness urged Pattaya authorities to investigate this incident thoroughly and swiftly to bring the perpetrators to justice.
