Defamation laws in Thailand

Background: I run a small hobbyist art group with a few friends. We’ve got a good balance of guys and gals in the group.

Recently I have been hanging out with this guy in the group privately, and a few of the girls in the group came forward to me to warn me of past rape history by that guy. For investigation’s sake, I kept a google doc of what I have been told and have discussed this with the other organisers in my group. Our group also have a google form where people can submit complaints and feedbacks too.

I was told that by discussing people’s allegation against the guy, or keeping a record of people’s complaints, I’m in violation of Thailand’s defamation law and everyone who have seen the documents will be in trouble. I tried looking up on this law but I mostly find royal defamation cases, which this one is not.

How much shit am I in? Should I start packing my stuff? Or is this an empty threat where laws are rarely enforced?
