‘Deeply regret’: Move Forward MP accused of assaulting woman apologizes

A Move Forward MP accused of beating a woman he was romantically involved with apologized today for his actions.

In a statement, Sirin Sanguansin has said that he had reached out to the 26-year-old woman who filed a complaint against him for punching her in the face.

“First and foremost, I would like to apologize to everyone involved in the event and to the general public for the delayed disclosure of the true facts regarding the incident. Due to a minor accident resulting in a head injury, I spent the past two days receiving medical treatment,” he said in the statement posted to Twitter.

While he did not go so far as to issue a full confession, Sirin said he deeply regrets his actions and would like to apologize to the complainant. He said he’s willing to submit to the legal process and investigation brought forth by his party. He said he will accept the…
