A motorcyclist was crushed to death by a 10-wheeler when his motorbike slipped and fell on a sandy road in the Mueang district of Chonburi.
The accident took place on a bypass inbound to Bangkok on Monday, September 25th. Upon arriving at the scene, the emergency responders saw the body of a man named Mr. Surasak Setthajit, 21, lying on the road with severe head injuries.
The deceased appeared to be a food delivery rider. An eyewitness to the accident, Mr. Watchara Daengprakham, 32, told local media that he saw the victim driving a motorbike alongside a 10-wheeler. When he reached the accident scene, the victim’s motorcycle slipped on a thick layer of sand and fell under the rear wheel of the truck, leading to him getting crushed to death.
According to the truck driver, Mr. Anon Jaicham, 35, he was traveling on the leftmost lane. He alleged that he saw the victim, who was driving alongside his truck, abruptly swerve to avoid another bike, causing the victim’s motorcycle to skid on the sandy street. Mr. Anon tried to swerve to evade the victim, but couldn’t do so in time.
The body was sent to a local hospital to wait for funeral arrangements. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to establish who was at fault. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=–=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
