Thai League 1 side Chiang Rai United drew 1-1 with Japan’s Gamba Osaka in Group H of the AFC Champions League on Sunday night to keep alive their hopes of reaching the last 16.
In the other game in Group H, which is being staged in Uzbekistan, South Korea’s Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors thrashed Singapore’s Tampines Rovers 4-0.
After four matches, Jeonbuk have 10 points, Gamba six, Chiang Rai five and Tampines zero.
The five group winners and three best runners-up in the east zone advance to the knockout stages.
At Lokomotiv Stadium, a sixth-minute strike by Felipe Amorim gave Chiang Rai the lead only for teammate Brinner to turn the ball into his own net in the 54th minute.
