Chiang Mai During Songkran

Some friends and I will be visiting Chiang Mai from April 10-14. I know that Songkran officially begins on April 13, but I hear that festivities can start early, especially in Chiang Mai. I’ve put together this itinerary as a starting point, but I’d love to get your input.

Some questions:

Do you anticipate Songkran impacting our plans?

Is there anything we don’t have on our list that you would highly recommend?

What should we do on April 13, other than participate in water fights? What should we expect will be open that day?

Should we anticipate any problems getting from the Old City to the airport on the morning of April 14?

**April 10**

Morning: Sunrise at Doi Suthep, Wat Pha Lat, Wat Umong

Afternoon: Old City

Evening: Food Tour

**April 11**

Cooking class at night

**April 12**

Night Bazaar at night

Thanks for any help you can provide!
