Chatbot helps assess Covid-19 symptoms

The Public Health Ministry has added a chatbot application to the Mor Prom app so users can assess their Covid-19 symptoms.

Dr Sopon Mekthon, assistant to the public health minister, said self-assessment via the app’s chatbot is up to 85% accurate.

“The Mor Prom chatbot is not a medical diagnosis but it helps those who are infected with Covid-19 know if they should seek urgent treatment,” he said.

Dr Sopon said the chatbot asks users to provide their information, age, weight, height, underlying diseases and symptoms.

The app will analyse the patient’s health conditions and provide treatment recommendations based on advice from the Department of Medical Services, he said.

The chatbot will ask about patients’ symptoms such as gasping and heavy breathing or sweating and weakness, and if they are severe recommend the 1669 hotline for one-to-one assistance.
