A Thai woman, wanted by police in Samut Prakan province as a suspected member of a Cambodia-based call centre gang, was arrested at the Thai immigration checkpoint in Aranyaprathet district of Sa Kaeo province on Tuesday night.
The 19-year-old, only identified as “Suchada”, crossed the border from Cambodia’s Poipet township Tuesday evening through the checkpoint and was immediately recognised as matching the Samut Prakan police description of one of the suspects wanted in connection with the murder of a mother and her two children by her husband, who tried, unsuccessfully, to end his own life as well.
According to the police, the family was cheated by a call centre gang, based in Cambodia, out of over 1.7 million baht, which they borrowed against equity in their house. In desperation over the debt and the prospect of their house being repossessed, the husband killed his wife…
