The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) is expected to start reducing bus services from Sunday, after passenger numbers dwindled amid the resurgence of Covid-19.
BMTA director Surachai Iamwachirasakul said executives would on Friday discuss how to streamline the service after daily passenger numbers fell from 800,000 to 500,000 following the Covid-19 upsurge last month.
He said the BMTA needed to study the details of each route to determine when and how to cut the service in response to flagging passenger demand.
