Bid to ensure players’ safety

The Football Association of Thailand (FAT) will implement all protocols to keep the national team’s training camp for their three remaining 2022 Fifa World Cup qualifying games in the United Arab Emirates safe from coronavirus.

FAT secretary-general Patit Supaphong yesterday confirmed that next month’s training stint will go ahead despite a recent surge in Covid-19 infections in the country.

“We will have all preventive measures in place and training will be strictly behind closed doors,” said Patit. “We are looking for a venue where we can implement all Covid-19 protocols and ensure the safety of everyone involved.”
