BG beat Port to extend lead to 16 points

Leaders BG Pathum United are marching towards their maiden Thai League 1 title after beating second-ranked Port 2-1 on Wednesday night.

Substitute striker Chenrop Samphaodi was the hosts’ hero when he netted the winner after 86 minutes.

Port went in front when Ko Seul-Ki scored in the 30th minute but Victor Cardozo equalised for the home team two minutes later as the first half ended 1-1.

The Rabbits were the better side in the second half but could not break Port’s defence until Chenrop beat goalkeeper Worawut Srisupha with four minutes remaining.

Port’s Sergio Suarez did find the back of the net in the dying moments but the effort was ruled out for a handball following a VAR…
