A Belgian man tragically died after he reportedly tried to diffuse an argument in Patong. The man’s friend told Patong Police that he had been in a heated argument with a Thai man at an apartment in Soi Nanai.
The victim had been trying to stop the heated exchange, and for unknown reasons, he reportedly ran and slipped, hitting his head on the ground. He was taken to Patong Hospital in a Tuk Tuk taxi and pronounced dead at the hospital, The Phuket Express reported today.
The victim’s name was withheld pending embassy and family notification.
Patong Police are continuing to investigate the incident to determine the exact cause of death. Police did not disclose details of the argument or the identity of the Thai man.
