At least a year for permanent solution on 5G: US air regulator

FAA chief Steve Dickson told a congressional panel that the agency was gradually clearing more planes to fly near 5G towers, but that a full resolution was at least a year away

NEW YORK: The United States will gradually permit more 5G telecommunications service near airports, but a long-term solution on air safety concerns will take at least a year, a senior regulator said Thursday.

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) chief Steve Dickson, said the agency will “continue to shrink the problem” in the coming months, but a final resolution would not be ready until “probably early 2023” or later.
