Arrest warrant issued for ‘Wolf of Weed St’ Ross Henry Smith

An arrest warrant has been issued for a millionaire medical cannabis entrepreneur who failed to turn up in court for sentencing on harmful digital communications charges.

Ross Henry Smith – the self-styled ‘Wolf of Weed St’ – was due to be sentenced in the Tauranga District Court on Thursday on charges brought under the Harmful Digital Communications Act, but he did not appear.

Smith is believed to be in Thailand. Judge Peter Rollo issued a warrant for his arrest if he returns to New Zealand.

The charges related to abusive and threatening emails and text messages that Smith sent to former colleagues in medical cannabis company Medicann in the wake of the company’s collapse.
