My girlfriend and I are planning out the Krabi portion of our trip, and are trying to find a good balance. We’ll be staying 4 maybe 5 nights, and want to be able to relax a bit but also take day trips to see the highlights of the region. Ao Nang seems like kind of a zoo and not so relaxing, but is also obviously most convenient for day trips.
I’ve been looking hotels on some of the beaches on the west coast, and they’re all around 15-20 minutes from Ao Nang (i’ll have a scooter), but they’re also somewhere where we can wake up on a quiet beach and relax on our days off.
If anyone has insight into whether Tubkaek or Klong Muang would be a decent home base for exploring Krabi, or other recommendations that might be better it’d be appreciated!
