Stayed at the Hilton when in Bangkok and really felt I was putting my money into some international corporation and not Thailand/local community.
Very seriously considering spending a week or so in Chiang Mai next year and would like any suggestions of independent hotels with pools around the 3-4 star price point. Would consider 5 star obviously, provided it’s not too expensive.
I will be with my 13 year old daughter. We like to be near local shops (Mini Big C/7-11) for snacks/home comforts and not too far from the main areas. We don’t mind using Tuk Tuks but cabs (Koh Samui) got a bit expensive.
Any advice on any cool hotels most appreciated.
My daughter loves the pools so a nice cool pool, friendly staff and Thai surroundings would be fab.
