Any advice for getting citizenship through the bloodline?

My dad was brought to the US when he was 3 years old, but he was born to a Thai mother in Bangkok. My grandma never renounced her thai citizenship for the American one.

My dad’s father (American) got a certificate for an American born abroad, but he won’t give me my dad’s original thai birth certificate so that we can apply for his ID card and then **my** thai birth certificate and ID card. In the US, I can get my dad’s birth certificate from the court house, but will Thailand have a record of his original birth certificate and allow me (his daughter) to request it so that I can apply for mine as well? The Royal embassy was entirely unhelpful when I asked (they only said that I could do a DNA test to prove thai blood, but only if I can prove my father’s citizenship, which I’d have to do anyways). Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
