‘Rare find’ believed to be Bryde’s whale from 3,000 to 5,000 years ago

An almost perfectly preserved whale skeleton thought to be between 3,000 and 5,000 years old has been discovered in Samut Sakhon, researchers say.

The bones were found in early November about 12 kilometres from the coast in the province just west of Bangkok, the BBC reported on Friday.

The 12-metre-long skeleton is thought to be that of a Bryde’s whale, it said.
