On 11 June 2023, Ambassador Tanee Sangrat presided over the merit-making ceremony for the 98th birthday anniversary of Phra Rajamongkhon Rangsri (Luang Ta Chi), the abbot of Wat Thai, Washington, D.C. and the advisor of the council of Thai Bhikkhus in the U.S.

More than 500 Thais and foreigners from across the U.S. and from Thailand, and also 85 monks from across the U.S., Thailand and other countries attended the ceremony.
