At 12:30 AM, on January 7th, 2024, Mr. Ronarong Thipsiri, the Inspector General of the Department of Provincial Administration (DOPA), Khlong Luang police, and relevant agencies raided an entertainment venue called HEAVEN Rangsit on Soi Khlong Luang 25 in Pathum Thani.
According to a report by the police, locals filed a complaint report that the entertainment venue allegedly secretly provided services without a valid license to minors under the age of 20, sold alcoholic beverages to minors under the age of 20, annoyed locals with loud music, and opened beyond prescribed legal hours.
After the investigation, more than 50 police and relevant officers raided the HEAVEN Rangsit Club and discovered that the establishment had almost 1,000 visitors. It was reported that 489 minors were found and were students and youths using the services. The lowest age was found to be only 16-years-old and 41 people were found not carrying ID cards, said the police.
Initially, the police pressed charges against the owners and managers of the establishment and would prosecute the law accordingly. Ronarong further added that the matter was submitted to the Governor of Pathum Thani to order an immediate closure of the establishment with a possible period of up to 5 years.
Ronarong said that this operation was per the social regulation policy of the Thai Ministry of Interior, led by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, the Deputy Prime Minister. It was strictly prohibited that every entertainment venue must not serve minors under the age of 20 and have no illicit substances.
If found guilty, the entertainment service providers who violated the regulation would be held liable, licenses would be revoked and the owners would be strictly prosecuted as well, remarked Ronarong.
The owners were not, however, immediately identified by Ronarong or relevant agencies.
