Allegedly Drunk Hotel Staffer Causes Car Accident in Pattaya and Injures Six People

Pattaya —

A 29-year-old hotel employee, who Pattaya police said was intoxicated at the time of the accident, crashed his sedan into a pickup truck on the morning of December 7th and injured six people.

The accident occurred in the Chaiyapruek 2 area near a railway road in Pattaya at around 4 AM.

Upon Pattaya police and rescue workers arrival at the scene, they found a black Toyota Yaris sedan had crashed into the middle part of a white Chevrolet pickup truck. The driver of the Chevrolet, 22-year-old Mr. Jakkrit Krajat, sustained injuries. Mr. Prapavin (last name withheld), the 38-year-old driver of the Toyota Yaris, was heavily intoxicated, as described by Pattaya police, and also suffered injuries.

The collision caused the pickup truck to veer off course. The impact also injured six other people, including four passengers in the Chevrolet and two in the Toyota Yaris. They were all transferred to a local hospital.

Mr. Jakkrit, the Chevrolet driver, stated to Pattaya police that he was returning from the sea with seven passengers and did not notice the sedan due to the driver reportedly not using headlights.

Meanwhile, Mr. Prapavin, the allegedly intoxicated Toyota Yaris driver, was disoriented and unable to provide clear information about the accident. He admitted, however, that he was a worker at an unnamed hotel and drank alcohol “a little” before driving home.

Both drivers were tested for alcohol levels at the time of the accident, but the results were not released. Pattaya police would later summon them for further investigation.
