The country registered 54 more Covid-19 fatalities and 23,834 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Friday morning.
This compared with the 49 coronavirus-related fatalities and 23,618 new cases reported on Thursday morning.
There were 23,688 local cases and 146 imported ones.
On Thursday, 19,351 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus while 227,843 others were at hospitals.
