Lowly Chiangmai hope to spring surprise on Sharks

Chiangmai United are bottom with 13 points after 23 games.

Thai League 1 cellar-dwellers Chiangmai United host Chonburi this evening knowing fully well that they can’t afford anymore slip-ups.

Chiangmai, with only 13 points from 23 matches, lost their past two league games and their chances of surviving in the top flight are evaporating fast.

The Sharks are in fifth place with 36 points, and they are also keen to win the away battle after a 1-1 draw with Bangkok United last weekend.

Chiangmai United have their star players Ekanit Panya and Bill Rosimar available for the match, while Chonburi would be banking on the expertise of Kritsada Kaman and Yoo Byung-Soo.

Chonburi coach Sasom Pobprasert said: “We must win this match but it won’t be an easy game because Chiangmai recently upset Port.”
