A young student driving a motorcycle collided with a pedestrian crossing the road in Pattaya overnight on Christmas Day, December 25th.

Nongprue police, along with rescue personnel from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation and a medical team from Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, quickly responded to the accident on Phatthanakan Road near the entrance of Soi 4, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

At the accident site, a red Honda PCX motorcycle was found overturned, significantly damaged in the middle of the road. Nearby, a male 15-year-old student (name withheld due to being a minor), the motorcycle rider, was lying unconscious, having suffered extensive injuries, including a large head wound.

The rescue team and medical staff provided immediate life-saving measures before swiftly transporting the injured student to the hospital. Another unidentified Thai man, the pedestrian, injured with abrasions across his body, had already been taken to the hospital earlier.

Eyewitnesses (requesting anonymity) stated that they observed the young student driving his motorcycle straight on the road. The injured pedestrian was standing by the road, seemingly attempting to cross but hesitating. The motorcycle then accelerated, and at that moment, the injured person ran in front of the motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

The Nongprue police conducted a detailed examination at the scene and planned to review CCTV footage in the area to determine the precise cause of the accident.
