The country registered 14,822 new coronavirus cases during the previous 24 hours, the highest one-day increase since Sept 11, 2021, the Public Health Ministry announced on Thursday morning. There were 20 more fatalities linked to Covid-19.
Incremental cases were up 1,640 from Wednesday’s figures, although the death count dropped by four.
The 20 new fatalities were between the ages of 44 and 94.
Bangkok had one new death while there were two more fatalities in the adjacent provinces of Nonthaburi and Samut Sakhon.
Other central plain provinces further from the capital recorded three more deaths – two in Chon Buri and one in Chachoengsao.
