China’s Zhu Lin upset seventh seeded compatriot Wang Xinyu 6-2, 6-4 in the semi-finals of the Thailand Open at True Arena Hua Hin Sports Club yesterday.
Zhu will play either top seed Bianca Andreescu of Canada or Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine in the final today.
In the doubles event, Chan Hao-ching and Wu Fang-hsien of Taiwan defeated compatriot Latisha Chan and Chile’s Alexa Guarachi 1-6, 6-4, 10-7 to make the final.
They will play Zhu Lin and Wang Xinyu for the title.
The tournament is making a return after being called off for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The ongoing edition offers a total purse of US$250,000.
