Gam Songprasert was named the Lone Star Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week, the league announced Thursday.
The Chiang Mai, Thailand product receives the weekly honors for the first time after she earned her first career victory after leading the No. 12 Lady Buffs to the tournament title at the Tulsa Cup.
Songprasert began the second day of the tournament with a one-shot lead before she finished 6-over par to take home medalist honors at 222 (74-73-75). The freshman totaled eight birdies in Oklahoma including four in the final round at the par-72, 5,966-yard Meadowbrook Course.
WT will return to the course on February 7-8 for the Texas A&M International tournament in Laredo, Texas.
