Why Thai people struggle so much to enjoy foods and differnt flavours from other regions of the world?

I’ve noticed that a lot Thai friends and acquaintances seem to struggle when it comes to enjoying foods from other parts of the world. I find it intriguing and would love to gain some insights from the community here.

Now, let me be clear – I absolutely adore Thai cuisine! The blend of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors is a delight to my taste buds. But, I’ve noticed that mnay Thai people may not be as open to trying and embracing different culinary experiences.

Is it purely a matter of personal preference, or are there cultural and historical factors at play? Could it be related to the strong influence of traditional Thai flavors and cooking techniques, making it challenging to adapt to different tastes? Or does the spiciness in Thai cuisine potentially create a sensitivity to milder flavors?
