Why is Thai food better than all of its Southeast Asian neighbors?

Thai food is often ranked as one of the best cuisines in the world while many other nations in Southeast Asia (except Vietnam) are far down the list.

Why is it that Thailand is able to create such wonderful and delicious cuisines while other Southeast Asian countries failed to do the same?

What is it about Thai culture that makes Thais better at cooking than their neighbors?

I asked this question because of a question I asked about why Burmese and Cambodian cuisine isn’t popular in Thailand, in which the responses are that their cuisines suck.
