Which month is better to visit thailand?

Hello everyone! I’ve been considering to visit thailand in december to celebrate christmas and new year but i’m kind of hesitating now after hearing that it’s crazy crowded during that time. I was wondering if it’s better to go in december or february for a better experience? Note that i’m a 24 y.o solo traveler and i only like to visit the country once so i wanna get the best out of it. I would appreciate sharing your experience during these times and perhaps recommend another budget friendly country as an alternative! thanksss
