Where to live as an Exchange student at SIIT

I am moving to bangkok for 6 months in January. I’ve been looking houses near Rangsit station. Is this too far considering the traffic? Im thinking if i could just take a taxi or commute but how much it would cost monthly and how much time should i prepare for my commute? Feel free to recommend any other places where i could go to Bangkok centre and SIIT easily.
