Where to go with toddler and wife who cannot carry anything

Hi all,

Before I was a dad, I used to backpack a lot. I have been to Thailand three times. Koh Lanta, Koh Phi Phi, Phuket, Bangkok, Krabi, etc.

I remember Koh Lanta was really laid back and chill with many families. This was over 10 years ago.

Now I’m a dad, our daughter is 2. She is very active and explorative. Unfortunately my wife cannot carry anything (includes our toddler…), she has disabled hand-wrists. So you can imagine, physically doing vacations is really exhausting for me because I must be alerted all the time and carry simply all stuff.
Hi
I really need some proper vacation. Ideally the following requirements can be met:

Long beach stretches for jogging •• not overcrowded (I know Thailand is a tourist destination … but still) •• calm sea and/or swimming pool for long swimming work outs and allow our toddler to play safely •• access to beach should be ideally directly from hotel/guest house •• I would like to have sun beds from hotel/guest house at the beach •• nice garden area / playground for toddler to play •• baby sitting service for 2-3 hours •• walking distance to street food (I want to give my wife proper Thai food experience) •• super markets, etc should be also walking distance ••

Then after all: I would really love to go somewhere where I have not been yet. But if you guys all tell me Koh Lanta is still THE place to be, I will seriously consider it. Phuket is a NO GO area for me.

As for budget: I don’t remember the prices any more. I’d rather pay not more than 100$ per night. I have not checked yet the prices – perhaps my expectation is somewhat flawed as I have prices from 2012 in mind.

Looking forward to good tips.
