What’s keeps you here? What drags you back home? Anyone having been reconsidering staying here?

I’m currently going through a phase where I’m reevaluating whether to stay here or go back to my home country. I actually moved back here some years ago after I found myself unhappy back home, so I’m naturally worried that I would find myself in the same situation. I know that there’s no perfect place either.

I have a great and rather safe job here that most people would probably dream of, at least financially. But apart from the title and money it doesn’t fulfill me a bit but is boring and frustrating. At the same time most friends have left and I often find myself lonely here; the phase where I would meet random girls to hook up with also faded and doesn’t fulfill me anymore. There are other reasons too, better health care/health insurance, for example.

Im not in a rush but am trying to reevaluate the pros and cons.

I would like to hear your thoughts as well. What keeps you here? What drags you back? Under what circumstances would you leave?
