Wet weather hits Gridley, one local food spot stays strong

Steady rain hit Gridley Tuesday, but traffic continued to flow up and down Highway 99, including large trucks and big rigs.

Officials earlier emphasized that though this storm is more mild than the atmospheric rivers that hit earlier this year, drivers should remain cautious right now on these roads.

Gridley is a significant midway point between Yuba City to the south and Chico to the north.

Naly Saetern, originally from Thailand, runs a Thai food truck in downtown Gridley, moving two months ago from nearby Biggs. Seatern said that the rain has impacted business, but remains optimistic. “There was no Thai food truck [here in Gridley], so I tried [to bring] Thai food truck down here, this is good business.”
