Local favourite Wattana Phu-Ob-Orm and seven-time world snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan secured places in the last 16 of the Pathum Thani 6-red World Championship yesterday.
The duo were assured of the top-two finishes in Group H and berths in the knockout stages after wins in early sessions at the Convention Centre of Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus in Pathum Thani yesterday.
O’Sullivan defeated fellow Englishman Stan Moody 5-2 while Wattana, known on the international stage as James Wattana, edged past Jimmy Robertson, another English player, 5-4.
