Warm and Dry March for Delhi, With Zero Rainfall and 3.3°C Above-Normal Daytime Temperatures | The Weather Channel – Articles from The Weather Channel

Summer is often too harsh for Delhi residents, but the summer of 2022 appears on course to be one of the harshest. The early onset of summer heat was evident throughout March across the national capital, with mercury levels approaching the 40°C mark during the latter half of the month.

Moreover, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) data, Delhi endured a month-long dry spell last month. While the national capital’s average rainfall during March stands at around 16 mm, a completely ‘dry March’ like this year has only occurred 12 times before in recorded history. Such a dry spell was repeated very recently in 2018 as well.
