Volvo Bus Thailand Co, the local distributor of buses produced by Sweden-based Volvo Group, is expanding its customer base to cover more factories and state agencies, following the pandemic’s impact on its chassis sales in the tourism segment.
During the pandemic last year, the company recorded sales of 38 units, according to managing director Dechchai Kulkarineetham. He declined to provide further details.
The company expects to attract more customers from factories and state agencies as it has identified new business opportunities in these two market segments.
“Factories and state agencies need buses to facilitate their staff’s travel. This service is now provided by private companies running bus transportation,” said Mr Dechchai.
Volvo Bus Thailand is also expanding its sales into the interprovincial bus market.
