Visting Chiang Mai during Songkran

We will stay in Chiang Mai from 14th to 19th. Please give us tips to have the best time here. Im aware that we can be splashed with water on the 14th and 15th but will the water sprinkling continue after that? When will the restaurant open after Songkran (we would love to try out the 3 Bath noodles and Cherng Doi Roast Chicken). I would love to receive more recommendation on the food and the places to visit.
