Visa Question

I am working with my company (US based) to allow me to permanently relocate and work for them remotely from Thailand next year. I plan to work remotely for 3-4 years before retiring there. I was wondering what my visa options are. It looks to me like I would apply for a LTR-T visa. Is that the only one I may qualify for with my conditions? If I retire in 3 or 4 years is it automatically converted to an LTR-R or do I have to do anything to make the conversion, or apply for a retirement visa? How long does it usually take for a visa like this to be processed and more importantly what are my chances of approval? How long before I plan on going to Thailand should I apply for the visa? Any thoughts, hints or suggestions would be appreciated.
