US online marriage for registration in Thailand?

Hello fellas, (since the Thailand subreddit is taking part in the protest…),

I am on a journey to make a quick wedding happen between me and my Thai girlfriend.

However, as a German citizen, I came to realize the amount of paperwork required for my government to issue a ‘freedom to marry’ certificate will take roughly 3 to 6 months. That is not including the work to be done within Thailand…

So, I came across online marriage in the US, which apparently is fully legal. They provide official documents and even Apostille, which means the marriage would be legal in 120+ countries, except in Thailand, of course.

Now the question I was unable to find out is, is the US marriage certificate with Apostille enough to trigger the registration process here in Thailand (after translations), or do the documents need to be legalized by the Thai embassy in the US first? Or can it be done by an Embassy here in Bangkok?

Does anyone have experience with registering a US marriage here in Thailand?

Help is highly appreciated!
