Two Suspects Apprehended in Recent Pattaya Washing Machine Theft Case

Pattaya —

Banglamung Police arrested two suspects in a recent washing machine theft incident in Pattaya. One of the culprits confessed to being a former maintenance worker for the laundry shop he stole from.

On September 21st, the Banglamung police squad arrested 23-year-old Natthaphon Phutthachan on charges of theft at night after he was captured in CCTV footage breaking into a washing machine shop in Pattaya earlier this week.

Natthaphon was identified as one of two suspects who broke into the Mega Wash & AMP Dry laundromat in the Naklua area and made off with over 10,000 baht, Banglamung Police stated to The Pattaya News.

Natthaphon was arrested in a rental room in Soi Map Yai Lia 23. The man confessed to being a former maintenance worker for the shop. He further admitted to collaborating with 39-year-old Siwakorn Sonprasa, who was responsible for driving him to and from the theft.

Subsequently, Natthaphon led the police to Siwakorn’s hideout, a rented room not far from his place. Siwakorn confessed to the allegations, but said he was only a lookout and didn’t actually steal anything.

The two suspects were placed in custody, waiting for legal proceedings.

In a similar incident, a man was caught for breaking into and stealing money from car-washing and water-dispenser machines in the Pattaya area on September 20th. His two accomplices fled.
