Suphanburi pulled off a big upset in Thai League 1, edging fourth-placed Chonburi 2-1 last night in a fierce encounter that saw players from both sides receive red cards.
Chonburi were worst hit as their goalkeeper Chanin Sae-ear was sent off in the fourth minute. Suphanburi’s red card came after 88 minutes when Danilo Alves received his marching orders.
Alves had put Suphanburi on course with a goal on 57 minutes and Ratchanat Arunyapairot widened the gap 20 minutes later. The Sharks pulled one back thanks to an own goal by Alves a minute before his sending off.
On Saturday night, leaders Buriram United saw Jonathan Bolingi convert a penalty and Supachai Chaided score in the second half to edge Port 2-1.
