Two Indian Tourists Allegedly Brawl With Group of Bar Workers on Walking Street in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A group of what appeared to be bar workers got involved physically with two Indian tourists for unknown reasons at half an hour past midnight today, June 14th, at the entrance of Soi 16 and Walking Street.

Unidentified eyewitnesses told the press that the incident happened in front of a night club at the entrance of Walking Street from Soi 16 in South Pattaya, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

Two foreign tourists, whom the witnesses said appeared to be Indians, were arguing with a group of bar workers of an unidentified establishment in the middle of the street in front of several Indian themed clubs. The two parties then suddenly started exchanging punches and blows for unknown reasons.

TPN Media notes that it is difficult to make out from the footage which party struck first. The footage has not been posted here, however, as it could disturb sensitive viewers.

Some tourists recorded the video of the fight which was then posted on social media and started to go viral this morning. The bar workers were seen largely outnumbering the tourists and one also also reportedly tried to bash the tourists with a rock. Fortunately, good Samaritans were able to separate the two parties, allowing the Indian tourists to get away.

As of press time, none of the people involved in the brawl have filed a formal complaint with the police. Nevertheless, local residents and witnesses are strongly urging the authorities to take decisive action, given that the incident posed significant risks to others.

Pattaya Police are reportedly aware of the incident and will be speaking with entertainment venue owners and management in the area.
