Two held for kidnap, shooting

Two Chinese nationals were arrested in Chon Buri’s Pattaya on Tuesday night in connection with the alleged kidnapping and shooting of two Chinese men in Samut Sakhon, police said.

The arrest came a day after police in Samut Sakhon were alerted to investigate the shooting in tambon Bang Ya Phraek in Muang district.

One man, identified as Jia Jian, was found dead with a gunshot wound and the other, Zhang Siyang, was found with gunshot injuries to his leg.

The injured victim told police that he and his cousin were forced by two Chinese men to hand over three million baht during a drive from Bangkok to the province.

After transferring the money the men allegedly shot Jia Jian in the car while Zhang Siyang fled.
