Twin explosions spark large blaze in speaker factory in central Thailand

Twin explosions sparked a large blaze that ripped through a speaker factory in central Thailand. The loud blasts jolted sleeping residents awake and sparked a raging fire in the four-acre facility in Soi Bang Pla 2 village in Samut Prakan province before dawn today. The frightened villagers called firefighters fearing the blaze might spread to the surrounding Thanasit community. Drone footage shows the bright orange inferno gutting the building as firefighters rushed to the scene. The flames had spread rapidly, burning up paper and plastic being stored in a warehouse. The officers used bolt cutters to break through the factory’s gates and douse the area to keep the fire at bay. However, collapsing debris prevented them from entering the building. Resident Charoen Banphotkhieo, 47, said: ‘I was sleeping when the explosions rocked my house next to the factory. I went outside and found it engulfed in fire.’ Meanwhile, the factory’s security guard on duty said he had finished his rounds at 1 AM without noticing anything suspicious. Minutes later, the explosion occurred and he saw smoke billowing out of the warehouse. Another blast followed, and he called emergency services for help. He said: ‘I don’t know what caused the fire. The warehouse wasn’t being used at the time, and there were no staff inside.’ Firefighters said they successfully contained the fire within the factory and have brought it under control at around 4am. There were no injuries or casualties reported. Authorities said they were investigating the cause of the fire.
