Trying to get my Chinese girlfriend a visa for long term stay.

Hi, everyone! I’m seeking some advice.

I’m a teacher from England with teaching experience and the necessary qualifications to work here. I’ve had four offers so far and it’s easy for me to find work. However, it’s proving extremely difficult for my Chinese girlfriend. She has a bachelors degree in architecture, a year of assistant teaching experience but no teaching qualifications. She wants to be an assistant teacher in Thailand. She also speaks English.

I’ve tried everything. I’ve specifically targeted schools that have Chinese staff and recommended her in my interviews, but after sending her CV, they have all refused her. A lot of them require a Chinese teaching license which she doesn’t have. However, I haven’t finished my PGCE either, but that doesn’t seem to matter. I know the reality is that she will always need to work 10x harder to find work outside of China compared to me.

I’m worried that if she can’t work here, she’ll have to go back to China, which obviously I don’t want. Neither of us don’t want to work in China anymore. I want to give her a better life.

If she can’t work, can she study English or education to get an education visa? Learning Thai won’t really benefit her career as Thailand is not a permanent move for us. We want to move to Australia after a year, where she’ll study there and I’ll work a teacher. Does anyone have any advice?

Thank you so much, lovely people ♥️
