Tragic Shooting Incident: 13-Year-Old Fatally Shot by Rivals, Ages 14 and 16, Near School in Nong Bua Lamphu

At 5:00 PM, on December 28th, 2023, Nawang police officers received a shooting incident report of a 13-year-old boy who was shot dead near a school by his rivals aged only 14 and 16, in Nawang, Nong Bua Lamphu.

According to a report by Nawang police, on the incident day, a sports festival was held at the school. The 13-year-old victim reportedly made contact with the 14-year-old and 16-year-old suspects to settle a score from a previous altercation in the past, said the police.

However, they could not verbally agree to a truce and the suspects rode a motorbike and committed a crime that took the 13-year-old boy’s life with an improvised firearm before fleeing from the scene, reported the police.

Initially, Nawang police officers were able to take hold of the 14-year-old and 16-year-old suspects shortly. The suspects reportedly confessed their wrongdoings as they previously had an altercation before taking the firearm to shoot the victim.
On December 29th, the police pressed charges of conspiring to intentionally murder another person and possessing firearm offenses and escorted them for further interrogation accompanied by multidisciplinary officials.

As the individuals are juveniles, however, the charges and final legal proceedings could change.
