Americans have been obsessed with Toyota pick-ups for decades and with the new Tacoma destined to hit dealerships later this year, that love affair is only expected to heighten. But did you know that the people of Thailand are equally enamored with Toyota’s do-it-all trucks? Given the landscape, the mid-size offering is ideal for work duty but there’s also a huge community of dedicated enthusiasts in the region that modify a variety of trucks, typically diesel-powered, and put them to task in drag racing competition, while others enjoy a healthy lift for some off-road adventure. And while Thailand doesn’t get a Tacoma specifically, they, like much of the rest of the world, are treated to the Hilux.
