Three weeks Thailand with a kid (2 year) | Looking for (kids)tips across the country

Dear reader/Hi,

as a last minute decision we’ve (Dutch M: 33 / F: 31) decided to travel to Thailand for 21 days (2 September – 23 September) with our daughter of two. As the date is not really far away we are thinking about only planning the first days in Bangkok, which will be our arrival and departure location 21 days later. We would love to have as much of the ‘real’ Thailand experience without being limited due to traveling with a kid. Due to the fact the little one can’t swim yet we would prefer to avoid small boats but we can also imagine that sometimes a boat trip is necessary to reach the great spots.

WHERE TO GO?!:

1. **What places would you recommend to stay at?** As stated above we are starting our trip in Bangkok and we’ll stay there several days to check out the city. After that we would probably head towards Chiang Mai. But we would love to keep our options open/flexible.
2. **What are great places to stay at that location?** Especially with a kid it may be great if it has the option for a kids-bed and not nearby any overly loud bars cause if the she sleeps well it’ll help us have a great time.
3. **What are the best (but not known) activities/to-do things in that area?** Well overall it’s pretty easy to find the well known things on the trip advisor websites, do you know some specials please recommended them! :)

GENERAL:

1. **What is the best travel option in cities?** Do you have a recommended app to use for it?
2. **If we decide to fly between destinations, where do you recommend to book them?** When looking onto the internet I see alot of options.
3. **Mobile data** \- I see the option to download an eSIM which I can already order on the internet, I would love to have an unlimited data bundle for our stay, what would be our best option?

DIVING:

1. **What are the best islands to stay for diving?** I would love to get my PADI and get some time underwater, what are the best islands to travel to with a good mix of things to-do and great diving locations
2. **Which diving sanctuaries/excursions do you recommend?** I would love to have some great tips about what is the greatest around the country.

FOOD:

1. **Which local dish is a must-have tasted?** Sometimes I look into the menu’s and I skip it due to the name but for doing that I am missing out on many lovely things, what do I need to try?
2. **What is the best location to taste it?** Ofcourse the taste of the dish will be decided by the location it’s being prepaired.
3. **I would love to have a cooking course, any recommendations on that?** As I love cooking at home I am doing the ‘western’-asia dishes and I would love to get some help for the best local-cooks.

I am probably missing out alot of things so if there is something in your mind that you would recommend please drop it in the comments!

Thank you in advance for helping us create an adventure of a lifetime!
