Three tycoons from Thailand were named by Forbes magazine to its list of the 150 richest people in the world.

Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group, Thailand’s largest food, agriculture, and telecommunications conglomerate, was ranked by Forbes as the 116th richest person in the world with a net worth of $14.9 billion in 2023. He grew a seed shop in Bangkok’s Chinatown into a nationwide contract chicken farming and production business that eventually went regional before branching out into shrimp production, real estate development and telecoms.
